It beste stik husried is in goed wuf

There is an upside down v mark on the e in beste and a slash over the u in husried and two dots over the u in wuf.
Does this help in finding what it could mean? Thank you

It isn't Danish, as far as I know, but it means something like : "hello, please, thank you"
Penn ar Bed
The end of the land
Le commencement d'un monde

Hi budyboo
I think it is from Holland, and I think the ü in reality is two i (ii)
Something like "The best picture (engraving) of housekeeping is the good wife"?? as my best guess :-)
Cheers

Isn't it Frisian? That would be my first guess.... or a kind of dutch dialect written in phonetics?
Meaning is transparent:
It bêste hûsried is in goed wiif.
The best kitchen equipement is a good wife/woman.

EDIT: Ja, it's western Frisian
