Perhaps someone here know the technical/or correct term for "sålbænk" (literally "sole bench") (sole as in shoes)
in English?The dictionaries I have come across gives the translation as sill or window sill - but in my mind the sill is the inner board/plate that is connected to the window. There seems to be some confusion about it in English :-)
A long search on the net yielded the expression "outside window sill" which I find close to acceptable. A further search gave the expression "window's ledge" which I find acceptable.
It is just that I have a feeling that I have come across a precise masonry term somewhere at some time.
It may have been coping, which is the slanted top layer of fx. a garden wall?

Doing the sill-ledge-coping by a prefabricated glassfibre reinforced concrete board instead of the previously used rowlock tier, as this is more impervious to cold and wet climates.
