Hi from New Zealand!
I'm needing the correct wording in Scottish Gaelic for "artist" - I have done research and found fear-ealain and ealantair. Ealantair seems to fit best (as I understand Ealain means "art"), but I want to make sure of the word having no reference to man as in the male form, which fear-ealain appears to. Is ealantair correct to use to describe a female artist? (also, I'm a glass artist, so the inference is on 'designing/making/creating' rather than drawing/painting). If you have any suggestions on the above, or for more correct wording, it would be much appreciated!
Cheers, Jill

Ealantair fits better... And it ca be used for females.
