Hay una canción "Frio Frio" de Juan Luis Guerra:
letra: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/j/juan ... _frio.html
video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zHhza3EgHe8

"El occidente" literally means "the west". "Your love splits me in two the west" doesn't make sense to me in English.
What does "el occidente" mean in this context? ¿Que significa el metáforo?

Ademas:

"warm warm, like a kiss that quiets (you?)
and ignites (you) in case (if it's the case that) you love her (him?)"

Correct, or no?

Also, a ver si traduzco esto correctamente:

tell me if I'm chewing the green mint of your voice
or if I'm hitting a patch to my soul

Y si es correcto, que significa "hitting a patch to my soul"?
And is there some saying in Spanish about chewing the green mint of one's voice?

Su ayuda se aprecia mucho ;)
