En Turkish now:

* Spring = Ilkbahar (litt. "The first spring")

* Summer = Yaz

* Autumn = Sonbahar ( litt. "The last spring")

* Winter = Kış [keush]

En nahuatl, on n'oppose que deux saisons, une saison seche a une saison humide (plus precisement, une saison de la chaleur a une saison de la végétation).

tônalco [tōnalko] /tōnal-ko/ saison chaude.
Le nom tônalli /tōnal-λi/ désigne la chaleur solaire, le soleil lui même tônatiuh /tōna-ti-w/ etant en nahuatl une forme verbale composée qu'on pourrait traduire en mot-a-mot comme: "il va en chauffant".
Le -ko final est un suffixe locatif (qu'on retrouve par exemple dans Mexico); les mots locatifs forment une classe specifique en nahuatl.

xôpan [šōpan] /šō-pan/ saison de la végétation ou xôpantlah [šōpanλa'] /šō-pan-λa'/ saison de la végétation abondante.
L'élement xô (parfois avec une voyelle breve) est lié a la notion de végétation, couleur verte, floraison, germination... On le retrouve dans les mots fleur: xôchitl /šōči-λ/ et fruit: xocotl /šoko-λ/ etc.
-pan est un suffixe locatif, et -tlah est un suffixe qui s'ajoute a ce locatif et a un sens d'abondance. Le terme xôpantlah a donc une nuance de vegetation abondante vis a vis de xôpan.
