Merci buckets :D

Des maisons abordables, "non-profit" - appel au soutien
(Homes for people, not profit)

StART is a group of Haringey residents and workers who want to see the St. Ann’s Hospital site used permanently for the good of all our local communities. We have started to involve local people in the process of developing housing, in a way that puts people in control and allows everyone to see how we are working. We will provide genuinely affordable homes on the site, promoting health and wellbeing, and create a green neighbourhood. We need your help! We'd love you to join us!
St. Ann’s Redevelopment Trust (StART) is changing the way we think about housing in London. We are a Community Land Trust (CLT) made up of Haringey residents and workers and we are hoping to acquire the part of the St. Ann’s Hospital site which is to be sold by the Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health Trust.

We want the community to have a say in what happens to this very special site, and for us all to help shape the kind of housing that will be built there so that it fits the needs of ordinary Haringey people.

Community-led
StART belongs to local people. Our decisions and ways of working are our own. In April 2017 we announced the publication of Our Vision Takes Shape, our master plan for the St. Ann’s site. This document is the result of a two-year campaign involving nine consultations with the local community. The design of the plan was in large part financed through crowd funding; nearly 500 people backed our project, raising £25,000.
Since then, we have been awarded grants from a number of funders, and have been working with various specialists in delivering successful sustainable urban regeneration projects that contribute wider economic and social benefits.

Our aims for the St. Ann’s site are:
To provide 100% genuinely affordable, secure, good quality homes for people who really need them.
To build a physically and socially sustainable community incorporated with the natural environment of the site.
To provide integrated health services that promote wellbeing.
To build community and retail spaces that provide opportunities for a vibrant community that takes part in its own development.

We hold open fortnightly meetings to plan and organise this project. We’d love you to join us! If you would like to get involved, please get in touch, by emailing us at info@startharingey.co.uk or phoning 07517 523 395.

Logement

Housing
Planning permission was given for a housing development on the St. Ann’s site in March 2015, in which only 14% of the homes were expected to be ‘affordable’. With the views of the community in mind, we aim to provide a far higher proportion of genuinely affordable, secure, good quality housing for local people, especially those who couldn’t afford to stay in the area otherwise.

We also intend to create a development that keeps the site for the benefit of the whole community, by providing other facilities and amenities for local residents. We see both the housing and facilities as community-led developments that are responsive to the needs of the people who live there.

Espace vert
Green space
We’re working to keep and enhance the unique physical environment of the St. Ann’s hospital site – trees, wildlife, architecture and archaeology – for the benefit of the local community.

Accessible green spaces have an enormous positive impact on health and wellbeing and we are exploring ways to raise public awareness of their role. We want to make sure that any future development of the site will prioritise the extraordinary contribution green spaces can make to the quality of life of local people.

Health
Inequalities in health, and mental health in particular, are significant in the borough. Health and wellbeing form one of the core principles within our plans. More supported housing for older people, people with mental ill health and other vulnerable groups is essential. We want residents to maintain their independence, support each other and receive health services in their own homes when needed. Not only do we hope to ensure that any development is sympathetic to the needs of patients and staff of the St. Ann's hospital, we wish to develop an environment that builds strong supportive networks between neighbours and friends within the community.
We'd love you to join us!
