Hello,
I am trying to write a song about a group of seven Baha'is that have been jailed for nothing more than them believing in their religion. They are known as Yaran "friends" in Farsi. I am wanting to get the word "friends" in as many languages as possible.
This is my first time using this site so I hope that I have posted correctly. Thank you for any assistance you might have the time for. Peace, Bob

Re: friends
Au masculin pluriel, donc (in masculin plural, thus) :
Latin : amici [am'iki]
Italian : amici [a'mitʃi]
Ancient greek : φιλοί
old high german : friunti (have a doubt about the flexionnal ending, Elie ?)
old english : frīend (singular : frēond)
And, in addition, in old french (Ruteboeuf)

N'en vi un seul en mo oesté

Ce qui est intéressant est que, en sanscrit, le mot "mitrANi" (pluriel de "mitra", que signifie "ami") est au neutre pluriel. Le mot "mitra", que signifie "ami", est utilisé au neutre.Sisyphe wrote:Au masculin pluriel, donc (in masculin plural, thus)
What is interesting is that, in Sanskrit, the word "mitrANi" (plural of "mitra", meaning "friend") is in neuter plural. The word "mitra", meaning "friend", is used in neuter.
