in simplified chinese "为什么不呢？"
in traditional chinese"爲什麽不呢？"
it reads"wèi shén me bù ne".

I feel this phrase is not really Chinese. I mean it is not Chinese to say so and I would dare to think that it developped from the knowledge of the idiomatic English phrase and has not cultural Chinese background : Why not ?
On the contrary 没办法 is terribly Chinese and not something that we say all the time (in european languages).

How would you say 'Why not' in Cantonese ? I seem to never hear people saying such a thing in Cantonese.
