New version of Freelang dictionary program

Post by Beaumont »

We invite you to discover the new version of our dictionary program.

The new features are:
- Full Unicode support (which means the program can support many more languages including Chinese, Arabic, etc.).
- Wildcard search (ex: *ing filters out all words ending by ing).
- No size limit for the entry fields (the old program had a 30/50 character limit).
- Only one program for all our wordlists (you can now browse Spanish-English and French-Russian wordlists with only one installation of the program).
- Choice of the interface language (and possibility to add new languages).
- More flexible customization (choice of various themes; fonts settings are remembered).
- Users are now warned if a new version of the program is published.
- It's very easy to send us an update.
- All features of the previous version have been implemented.

For more information please refer to the user guide.

Your comments and suggestions are most welcomed!

We have just releases version 4.2, with a better reversing algorythm and better overall performance.

External fonts are now supported, so you can set up a font (style and size) for each wordlist. The dictionaries that use a special font (Armenian, Esperanto, Macedonian and Vietnamese) are now compatible with the new version of the program.

There's a problem with the practice page on the new version. The practice word field isn't long enough and cuts off the beginning of the word. The attached file should show the problem. Apart from that I love freelang, but I can't practise my words at the moment :(

No problem for me... :c-com-ca:

Obviously, you have to allow the setup to make changes to your computer. This is a standard Windows dialog box (User Account Control) immediately showed when running dictionary_setup.exe or dic_[language].exe

Edit : A box similar to this one :

Hello
:D now it's fixed, I have downloaded a different version of Netframework,
it had eluded me :-? that Service Pack 1 was needed.
Then once I had downloaded that and installed it . There was no problem during the instalation and now everything works perfect! :D :D :D
