Help identifying the Chinese in this Kung Fu article

Post by belmont »

I'm researching a kung fu style called 'fu hok yao gong fut pai', unfortunately there isn't much information available. There used to be a website but it was taken down. So far I have found these scans of a magazine that talks about it but I don't know if it is Mandarine or Cantonese. Once I find out I can submit them for translating

I found the pages from this forum: http://wulin.proboards.com/thread/99

Well, just a look at the style of the paper to know that it is not written Cantonese (there is so few). It is just written Chinese. So everyone can translate - that will be more a problem of quality of the document scan ;)

So in the title, there is
虎鶴柔剛拳

in Cantonese, it is spelled : fu hok yao gong chuen
in Mandarin, it is spelled : hu he rou gang quan
tiger crane soft hard

thank you for the assistance. Unfortunately this is the only quality there is, but I think it is legible if you download the images and zoom in

Here's the fu hok site archived in the wayback machine

The Teachers of this system are located around Atlanta Georgia...

Sifu Wah Lun Syn and Sifu Andy Peck...

I have been trying to get someone to let me at least see fu hok yao gong fut pai

I trained wing chun under sifu/instructor Stan Mason that trained under Sifu Peck and he told me about fu hok and for three years I have been trying to get to see a glimpse of it...

I made contact with a hop gar Sifu Andrew Adler who said he would ask sifu Wah Lun Syn if i could get a look at fu hok yao gong fut pai

Hello all. This is an old thread so I'm not sure if anyone is interested anymore. I studied FHYG with both Sifu Peck and Sifu Lun for several years. Happy to provide any details that I have if there is still interest. Fun fact: I actually designed that old web site back in the day, thanks for the blast from the past!
