The idea was to create a database containing the phrase "I can eat glass, it doesn't hurt me" in as many languages as possible. That way, when you travel to a foreign country, you could speak thier language without sounding like a totally nerdy tourist. Instead you'd sound just like one of the crazy locals.

Well, it's funny, but the pronunciations of portuguese / brasilian and serbo-croatian are very bad..
And serbo-croatian is not one language (at least not any more).
