hello all i am wondering if nyone here can please help metranslatethis phrease to english... "mene mene tecelphares"
I think it may be greek or latin possibly yiddish or hebrew?
any help will be greatly appreciated thank you :)

actually tis "mane, thecel, phares". it is hebrew. and, according to the legend, these are the words that a mysterious hand wrote on the wall of the royal palace when Cyrus entered Babylon (Daniel, chapter V.)
as for the meaning, it is something like "counted, weighted, divided" by memory. but i might be wrong

In fact that's the usual transliteration. But the exact sentence is :

מְנֵא מְנֵא תְּקֵל וּפַרְסִין (mene mene teqel ufarsin)... and it is Aramaic, not Hebrew ! ;)
