Translation-Notes Wiki. Any volunteers?

Post by Runa27 »

Hello everyone. I've started a Wiki site for archiving unofficial translation notes (for things such as novels, films, TV shows, etc.) for works that have an official translation released but no translation notes. It's called (for now at least) the Translation Notes Wiki. Right now there are no notes (though I am working on some for the Spanish-subtitled version of the TV series Wonderfalls' Region 1 DVD release). That's where you people would hopefully come in.

The site's primary language is English, but the notes will be bilingual. For instance, if you were to look at the (soon-to-be) completed pages for my Spanish-subtitled Wonderfalls notes, you would see the top half of the page in mainly-English and the bottom half in mainly-Spanish. I thought that this would be the best setup, since some people use subtitles to learn the language of the subtitles and others use it to learn the language the audio is in, and sometimes people just like to know what changes were made when their favorite series got translated into another language.

I can edit any English-language versions of the notes, but I'm still learning Spanish (I'm hoping that my Spanish teacher will be willing to look over my notes for Wonderfalls), and I do not speak any other languages. If you know English and say, French or German or Italian, and would be willing to contribute some unofficial translation notes, it would help a LOT!

Notes can be on:

*Translated novels, short stories, etc.,

*Dubbed and/or subtitled translations of films or TV series

*Translated comic books

...with no translation notes in the official release.

Let me know if you are interested in helping in some way! Creation and editing are password-protected on it, but viewing is public.
