Instead of human substance, I suggest human essence, or human nature

This series explores the interaction of bodycurves and light, through a series of lightcurves produced by special arrangements of lamps projected on the body. The result is a series of "bodylandscapes". The body loses its human substance and is transformed into a landscape: hills, dunes, suns... The juxtaposed materials (clothes or pieces of cloth) are transformed IN their turn into natural elements: lace into trees, blue cloth into sky...

Tu peux meme retirer so-called parce que t'as mis les guillemets

So-called "mental mapping" is a method of communication and information transmission, based on imagination as well as on the association of images or ideas. It WAS developed by Tony Buzan in the early 70's and consists in writing down your ideas, thoughts, reflexions, in graphic and non-linear form, i.e. using a TREE representation.

This photo series is a graphical representation of the CONCEPT of mind mapping. The arborescence of thoughts and their transmission are symbolised by a tree whose branches unite the human brain with its external environment. The series HAS twelve coloUred variants.

This SERIES OF composite photos USES diverse photos of sculptures or models OF sculptures taken at the Rodin Museum in Paris, especially L'Eternelle Idole (The Eternal Idol, 1889), the terra cotta model Sommeil (Sleep, 1890-1894) and Anna de Noailles (1906).

Through digital manipulation, Rodin's sculptural material is transformed into pictORIAL material, or repetitive patterns. Vegetal or mineral materials, natural, urban or even alimentary themes are encrusted to it.

The series questions the subjectivity of the look and the projection of the everyday world on the artworks contemplated in a museum. The principal of metamorphosis is central to this question.

Self-portraits or portraits, of friends or strangers, of their known or unknown facets. Trying to express ONE OF THEIR FACETS in an exagGerated way, this enables attributION OF a character to the produced image. The result is often an asymMetry between the different facets of the same person, which produces A series of physiognomies RATHER than a series of portraits.

IOANNIS?

The Dominican monastery of "Sainte Marie de la Tourette" is located in Eveux, near LyonS, in France. Designed in 1953 by Le Corbusier, and COMPLETED in 1960, it has been occupied by a Dominican community since 1959.
The photos of this series concentrate essentially on:
-The crypt: Composed OF seven individual altars, situated on small terraces marrying the slope of the ground. The concrete is rough or smooth, washed or painted, the walls are vertical, oblique or curvilineal, lit by "light guns" which vary according to the orientation and the slope, the diameter and the coloUr.
-The interior garden, the atrium and the "undulatories": The traditional cloIster and conventional Dominical plan are replaced, in the Monastery of La Tourette, by two aerial, closed and crossing bridges. The corridors are lit by vast canopies with irregular horizontal and vertical cuttings, which Le Corbusier called "undulatories". The rHythm of their spacing was studied and created by the Greek architect and music composer Iannis Xenakis. On the other hand, the shadow of these rHythms is projected on the floor, creating interesting plays of light.

:drink:
