It means "hello". And word for word, something like "I honor the divine in you".

a more grammatical explanation:

"namaste" means, literally, "a salutation for thee".
where: "namah" = salutation. "te" = for thee, dative of "tvad" = thou.
"namaste" is a contraction or combination of "namah" with "te". this combination is called Sandhi. if you want more information, just post here, ok?

"namovah" would be "a salutation for you all".
where: "namah" = salutation. "vah" = you all, dative plural of "tvad" = you all.
"namovah", again, is a contraction of "namah" with "vah". Sandhi.
