Voici une correction avec plusieurs possibilités:
They imply/are implying that Cherokee should be at (the) university and not visiting his sister. So/ thus, we can deduce/assume/ suppose (that) it is not the first time (that) Cherokee has dropped out of school/ cut school (=secher les cours) (just) before exams.
