j'ai une nouvelle question a poser a propos de l'utilisation du futur en anglais:


dans un premier temps, pouvez vous me dire si mes phrases sont correct, sinon merci de me corriger en employant la bonne forme de futur suivant le contexte:


- Look out! Are you going to drop it ?
- He will probably phone soon.
- Serve the soup just as it will is boiling.
- When I get home, I will be having a hot bath.
- This time next year, I will have traveled through America.

L'utilisation du futur n'est pas une science exacte. Il y a des règles, mais assez souvent on a le choix. Pas toujours non plus, je vais te corriger.

- Look out! Are you going to drop it ? J'ai du mal à voir le contexte pour cette phrase, donc je ne sais même pas ce que j'aurais mis... Mais avec "to be going to" on exprime souvent une intention, et donc ça ne va pas bien avec "look out" qui entraîne plutôt un mouvement réflexe, ou en tout cas quelque chose pour se sortir vite d'une situation.

- He will probably phone soon. J'aurais pu le dire... Mais le "soon" me laisse penser que ton/ta prof voulait un "to be going to" qui exprime le futur proche

- Serve the soup just as it will is boiling. Grammaticalement c'est faux. On ne peut pas utiliser "will" et "to be going to" dans la même phrase. Ici il faut dire : just as it is boiling. En fait c'est plutôt un présent.

- When I get home, I will be having a hot bath. Si tu utilises l'aspect continue dans cette phrase, il y a la notion de simultanéité. Donc ta phrase signifie que la personne sera en train de prendre un bain en rentrant à la maison. Peut-être une nouvelle forme de voiture-piscine ? je te propose : I will have a hot bath

- This time next year, I will have traveled through America. Je pense que c'est plutôt "I will be traveling"

Ok ok, alors se serait:

- Look out! You will drop it.
- He is probably going to phone soon.
- Serve the soup just as it is boiling.
- When I get home, I will have a hot bath.
- This time next year, I will be traveling through America.

oui. Tu es sûr que c'est un point d'interrogation pour la 1ère phrase ? Avec un point d'exclamation ça me paraît plus normal...

oui tu as raison c'est un point "normal" en fait, j'ai corriger.

Deuxièmement, je dois repérer s'il s'agit, d'un "programme", d'une "décision", d'une "prédiction", d'une "anticipation", d'une "action prévue" ou d'une "action imminente". :

- Look out! You will drop it. décision
- He is probably going to phone soon. prédiction
- Serve the soup just as it is boiling. programme
- When I get home, I will have a hot bath. Décision
- This time next year, I will be traveling through America.

look out, you're going to drop it, plutôt, et c'est une action imminente (attention, tu vas le faire tomber)

Pour le reste, c'est vraiment pas clair... J'ai du mal à faire la disctintion entre "programme" et "action prévue" par exemple. J'aurais pas forcément mis la même chose que toi, mais tes réponses ne me paraissent pas fausses non plus...

pour t'aider, programme, c'est " dans le cadre d'un horaire, d'un calendrier":
ex:
the train leaves at 3.20 pm
le train part à 15 heures 20.

alors que action prévue un exemple:

le premier ministre doit se rendre en chine en juin.
the prime minister is to visit China in June

j'ai une fiche qui résume tout ca, si tu veux je te l'envoie

et le problème c'est que une action imminente sur ma fiche se traduit par
-about to + V

et pour la première, to be going to + V, dans ce cas, ce serait une prédiction et pas une action imminente sur ma fiche
