Je viens de découvrir ce forum et je pense que vous pourrez m'aider.
En fait, je dois traduire cet article pour lundi et je souhaiterais que quelqu'un me file en coup de main pour la correction.

Tardive condamnation
L’instigateur du triple crime raciste, commis en 1964 par des membres du Ku Klux Klan, n’a été condamné qu’en 2005.
Le 21 juin 1964, au Mississippi, Andrew Goodman, James Chaney et Mickey Schwemer, trois militants des droits civiques, sont sauvagement assassinés par des membres du Ku Klux Klan. En fait-divers tragique comme l’Amérique en génère parfois, une de ces histoires sanglantes dont le cinéma aime à s’emparer. En 1988, « Mississippi Burning », d’Alan Parker faisait connaître au grand public toute l’horreur de ce triple crime raciste.
Le contexte, d’abord. Dans les années 1960, la ségrégation raciale est profondément enraciné dans tout l’État du Mississippi. La communauté blanche s’oppose à tout y compris à la mixité scolaire, considérée alors par le très influent Ku Klux Klan comme un « abalardissement ». Les Noirs n’osent pas voter, ils subissent des pressions économiques et sociales. Mickey Schwemer a 24 ans. Il milite avec deux autres amis new yorkais. L’un est noir, l’autre est blanc. Leur objectif : faire inscrire le maximum de Noirs sur les listes électorales. Le Klan, averti de leur action, les traque sans cesse et finit par les mitrailler à bout portant dans la nuit du 21 juin 1964. À Philadelphia, tout le monde connaît les auteurs du crime, mais c’est la conspiration du silence. Police et Klan restent enfermés dans le mutisme de l’arrogance meurtrière.
Il faudra attendre l’an 2000 pour qu’un procureur rouvre le dossier. Malgré la disparition des témoins de l’époque en dépit d’un climat encore lourd, le pasteur Killen, 80 ans, instigateur du triple assassinat, sera condamné en 2005 à soixante ans de détention. Quarante ans après, justice est enfin rendue !

The instigator of the triple racist murder, commited in 1964 by members of the ku klux klan, has only been condemned in 2005.
On June 21 st, 1964, in Mississippi, Andrew Goodman, James Chaney and Mickey Schwerner, three civil rights workers, were savagely / brutally assassinated / murdererd by members of the ku klux klan.
A tragic news items like America generated sometimes, one of these bloody stories of which the cinema likes being inspired.
In 1988, “Mississippi Burning” from Alan Parker revealed to the audience / general public all the horror of this triple racist crime.
Firstly, the context.
In the ninenteen sixties, racial segregation is profoundly anchored / deeply rooted in the all state of Missisppi.
The white community rebells / stands up against everything, including school coeducation, considered at that time by the very powerful ku klux klan as a debasement. Black people / african Americans do not dare to vote, they undergo / suffer from economical and social pressures. Mickey Schwerner is 24 years old. He struggles with two other New-Yorker friends one is black, the other one is white. Their goal to incit the majority of black people to join the electoral rolls.
The klan, informed about their initiative, chases them and finally machines gun them at point blank range in the night of June 21, 1964. In Philadelphia, everyone knows the author of the crimes / murders but this is the silence of conspiracy. Police / justice and klan lock themselves in the mutism of murderous arrongance. We will have to wait the year 2000 for a public prosecutor to reoppen the case.
In spite of the disapperance of the witnesses from that time and “en dépit” : despite of the heavy atmosphere which still keeps up the Baptist minister killen, 80 years, instigator of the triple murder will be condemned / sentenced / sent down in 2005 for sixty years of custody / detention. Forty years later, justice is finally done!
