Olen pitkän linjan taiteilija. Aloitin urani kulta- ja hopeaseppänä ja toimin metallityöopettajana, josta työstä eläkkeelle jäätyäni vuonna 1976 olen toiminut vapaana taiteilijana. Teosteni materiaaleina käytän ruostumatonta terästä, pronssia, hopeaa ja kiveä. Tyylillisesti teokseni edustavat puoliabstraktia, pelkistettyä ja ajatonta muotokieltä. Ilmaisullinen tavoitteeni myötäilee antiikin kreikkalaisia ihanteita: pyrkimys totuuteen, kauneuteen ja hyvyyteen. Teoksissani on aina jokin symbolisesti toteutettu idea, joka haastaa katsojan älylliseen ajatteluun ja mietiskelyyn tuottaen samalla visuaalista mielihyvää.

Here's a direct translation of this short autobiography. I'm a work, sorry I don't have the time to improve the translation... Here it goes:

I’m an artist who rose through the ranks. I started my career as a gold and silversmith. I also worked as a metal work teacher and retired from this job in 1976. I’ve been working as a free artist ever since. I use stainless steel, bronze, silver and rock for my works. When it comes to style, my works are half-abstract, they’re a simplified timeless form of language. I am inspired by the ideals of ancient Greece: the aspiration for truth, beauty and goodness. There’s always some kind of symbolic idea in my works, which is a challenge to the onlooker’s intellectual thinking and meditation while giving a feeling of visual satisfaction.

I have wanted this translated since 1999! I was fortunate enough to obtain a small piece of Vaino Latti's work. In trying to research the artist, this was the only information I could find and alas! I couldn't read it!

I would just LOVE to have that information. How did you find it? I could only find one site using GOOGLE. I'll be away for about a week; I'll certainly look forward to re-visiting to look for these additional translations!
