Quote translation from English to Sanskrit please...

Post by nyree1luv »

Hello all!!!
I would like to know if anyone would be able to translate a quote from English to Sanskrit. I think it is a wise adage to live by and has certainly defined my life thus far. Thus, I would like to make it a part of a tattoo that I am getting in honor of graduating university and in surviving the challenges that life has thrown and probably will throw at me. So, I'd greatly appreciate the translation of a quote by William Jennings Bryant:
"Destiny is not a matter of chance; it is a matter of choice. It is not a thing to be waited for; it is a thing to be achieved".
Thank you in advance!!!!

As promised, here is the translation.

Nara nischayantebhaagyam,
na devat phalati shubham;
nyvum siddhanti kaaryaani pratikshavai kadhaachanam,
purushakaarane hi loka laabhante paramaadanam.

'e' in devat is pronounced like the 'a' of label;
the last 3 letters of purushakaarane, i.e., 'ane', are pronounced just as 'ane' in the word pane.
