Appology to a Thai friend

I would like to give a formal, polite, humble appology to a friend I have
been living with. He's American but his wife is Thai and she has been the
most put out by me living there...
Pretty much I can give him a thanks and a hand shake and move on.
But her, I'd like to appologize for taking up space in her home and causing
her to have to do more cleaning and stuff like that.
I don't have a pre-written letter because I know almost nothing about her
culture and have probably insulted her several times by accident already.
If any one can offer words, phrases, or just general guidelines I would
be eternally gratefull.

I'm lacking inspiration right now, but I could translate something very simple, like "I'm sorry I gave you more work to do because I was there, thank you very much".
