The word "eternity"

Post by Glausp »

Hi, all!

Greetings from the sunny, funny, disorganized and violent city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil!

Please, I'd like to have the word "eternity" translated into as many languages as possible. If applies, always in original characters, if possible, for use on a web page.

My e-mail: gptheol @ globo.com

Doubt

Post by Glausp »

Can I use any of the two Romanian words? Or is there a specific use for each of them?

Yes you can. "Veşnicie" is a bit more frequent, "eternitate" is a neologism.
There are also two adjectives corresponding to each one of these nouns. "Veşnic" and "etern", meaning "eternal". Again, "etern" is a neologism.

As I understand, Veşnicie/Veşnic is taken from surrounding slavic languages, isn't it ?
