Hi everyone! I'm a Spanish-speaking student of English (I'm not sure if I expressed it correctly) and as such, have a lot of questions about how to express myself in English.
My last one is: how do I emphasize in English that someone was born in the South (or North, East or West). I thought of "South-born man/woman/girl/boy", but I'm not sure if it's correct. Could someone tell me?
Just for your information, what I'm trying to translate into English is the Spanish expression "nacido/a en el sur".
I made this same question in the forum in Spanish in this same site, but nobody has answered me so far. I hope to be luckier here.

I didn't see the expression myself when looking for it with a search engine (what I generally do to know if a phrase is used or not).
But I made this question because I found in the Oxford English-Spanish dictionary that "-born" could be used in expressions such as "Austrianborn/Dallasborn" and "firstborn", which were given as examples. Although I didn't find the same in the English/English dictionaries I consulted.
