This article of the Washington Times presents a report following the installation of districts cameras, some years ago, in American districts such as in Baltimore, Chicago, New York and San Francisco. Today, it's noted that this experiment appeared unfruitful. Indeed, if this initiative was taken in good intentions, the result was not less negative. So which are the reasons of this failure? And which were the consequences for the inhabitants?
Contrary to London, where this project is a success, since the tools allowed a reduction of the crimes, the districts cameras didn’t bring to the United States any fall of the rate of criminality. In theory, it was a question of having a better control of these districts and a more precise supervision of the individuals. But indirectly, there is also an attack with the personal freedom insofar as these people are daily observed: “We do not want some omnipresent Big Brother monitoring our every move”. Thereby, is it necessary to privilege safety to the detriment of the personal freedom?
The alternative of the districts cameras didn’t bring changes as for criminality in these districts, but raised other questions which relates to the American system of safety. The text underlines the fact that it would be necessary to concentrate on other priority like manpower of the officers: the City Hall needs to grant the police department more tools and resources necessary to maintain a stronger presence. Moreover, another fault of this experiment: the images are sometimes vague and the criminals can easily avoid the cameras.
The project of the districts camera is still badly controlled and difficult to manage especially that it does not manage to dissuade the criminals. That’s why it’s thus necessary to find a balance between the respect of civil freedoms and the maintenance of the safety of the citizens.

si le sujet de "relates" est "other questions", donc ce devrait être "relate", parce que c'est pluriel.
