english-hebrew translation needed

Post by Nom »

Hello,
I have several problems with hebrew and I would be very grateful if someone could help me :sun:

1. I need to translate in hebrew - (I am) "guarded by" or "protected by"

2. What's the spelling of name "Uriel" in hebrew? Is it "alef, vav, yud, alef, lamed" or "alef, vav, resh, yud, alef, lamed"? Or smth absolutely different? :-?

3. Is it possible to translate another name, which probably isn't used in hebrew? It's "Cassiel". I was given an advice that maybe it would look like that - קפציאל ? I'm not sure, of course.

The only answer I can give with certainty:
Nom wrote:or "alef, vav, resh, yud, alef, lamed"?
yes, אוּרִיאֵל "God is my light"

(I am) Guarded by = (ani) nishmar al yedei
אני נשמר על ידי

About "Cassiel", no idea what that could mean :(

:-o sagsag, What about this one - אני מוגנת / אני מוגן ? I know it means quite the same, m? what's the difference between them?

אני מוגן
Is more passive, as in stating a condition "I'm protected"

What I offered is kind of a progressive state, more like "I am being guarded/protected (by)"

Sorry for bothering you, but then is there any special grammatical case needed for the following word? (for that one, who's protecting me, :cat: I definitely have some problems explaining things in English..)
And also I would appreciate if you could tell me how is that in female gender, I need both.

Sorry if I didn't make myself clear.

I don't really understand what you mean by "grammatical case" :-?

For male -
אני נשמר על ידי

Female
אני נשמרת על ידי

The following word is the name of the protector-someone, or something

Complicated to say that in English. I mean.. umm.. declension? well, just - do I need to change the ending of that (protectors) name? Or does this make sense -

אני נשמר על ידיאוריאל ?
