Hi,
I was hoping someone would be able to translate the following story into Tamil for me as I need the text urgently. The story is an account of an incident in a hospital in Tamil Nadu and I hope to incorporate the translation into a piece of artwork for a university project. (The translation is not to be marked, just the overall piece of art of which it will form a part.)
The paragraph is as follows:
"The bare metal operating table dominated the operating theatre, glinting in the lights. The patient, a tiny old woman was brought in hesitantly, trying to preserve her dignity in a faded green gown which gaped at the back. She was helped onto the table, by now shaking visibly. As this procedure was to be performed under local anaesthetic she was blindfolded. She began to cry, sobbing to please be let down, she didn’t want it, please…The nurses carried on. “It’s for you own good, shh”. Her legs were placed in the stirrups. The end of the table would not come away, the hinge stiff from rust, so a nurse retrieved the mallet from the anaesthetist’s trolley and thumped the table. The woman’s pleas became more hysterical as the surgeon swooped into prepare for the cystoscopy. “It’s for your own good, shh, shh”."
If some of the words do not translate directly, I don't mind if substitutions are made.
Many thanks for any help anyone can give me!
