Serbian childcare translations

Post by teacher_tia »

Hey, I'm an Early Childhood Educator and I have a child in my classroom that speaks Serbian. She understands English but cannot speak much of it and I would like to try to speak to her in her first language.

If you could help me out with translations for things you would hear in a daycare setting I would be forever grateful.

For example, words such as:
- bathroom
- water table
- toys

And phrases such as:
- Good Morning
- Wash your hands
- Not your turn
- Time to go outside

Thanks in advance for any help.

I'm not sure, but I'd say :
batheroom > toalet
water table > (what is that ???)
toys > igračke

good morning > dobra večer
wash your hands > isprati toje ruke

(the best, is maybe to ask to the child or to parents, they must have a serbian, english dictionnary, cause my words look more like croatian, but it's similar ...)
Ja nisam pijana.
Volim pivo (meme pas vrai lol).
Sloboda ili smrt, volim Srbju (ca c'est si on est suicidaire...)
Bolje biti pijan negom star ...
(super les phrases types ;))
