We have just brought a very nice young lady from France to live with us. I must admit that her grasp of English is MUCH better than my grasp of French, but I want to see how to help her get along in the US on a daily basis.
I was wondering if there were any recommendations for a good elecronic translator that will help her with phrases and things while she is out and about.
I looked for review on the Ectaco translators and they didn't seem favorable. I don't want to spend more than about $300...
Even a recommendation for a good phrase book/dictionary would be very helpful!

Dictionaries can also be bought at Walmart; W.H. Smith; Barnes and Nobles; Amazon and so on...
To my opinion electronic translators are nothing more than crap. Work foreign languages as if it were your very own is the real deal.

Jesus was my copilot but we crashed in the Andes and I had to eat him.
