Old English- Help!

Post by Mithrandir »

For an english assianment, I am translating name of places and things into Old English. I've found most words w/ out a problem, dispite the fact that I can't buy or download a dictionary. Now, however, I've run into a brick wall :gniii: ; I cannot find a translation for the word "mortal". What really annoys me is that this is for name of my main character, so I really need it. Its just my luck that the one translation that I really need is the one that I can't find. So for any of you out there who know old english, I beg you to hear my cry; HELP ME PLEASE!!! If you could get back to me before Friday it would be great, but I can wait a little longer. I am at your mercy. :god:
Thanks!

I don't think there will be a translation for the word "mortal" in Old English as you want. Mortal takes a couple of meanings, and the one I think you want is akin to "human", which I think may be "fira"
Es den dotil.
