AMRATVELA - ourdou or hindi word ?

Hello,

I really hope you will be able to help me to find out the origin and the translation of the "word" AMRATVELA that is published in the second jungle Book of Rudyard Kipling, chapter 4 (the undertakers) ;

In the english and spanish editions, a "simple" translation is given : sunrise ;

" ... Yet before amratvela (sunrise) they put the fire to him a little,
as the custom is, and the dead man comes to me, and he says no more about it. ... "

" ... Sin embargo, antes del amratvela (la salida del sol), lo queman un poco, como es
la costumbre, y el muerto viene a parar a mí, y él ya no dirá nada del ... "

Kipling's biography says that his "Ayah" spoke ourdou with him and teached him the stories, songs and legends of her country ;
