In Portuguese:
"Devoção" or "dedicação".
In French:
We would say "dévouement" or "attachement", but we are not sure.

"Attachement" may be for instance devotion to one's children with a meaning more like "love", or it may also be commitment to a cause, but out of context I would rather recommend "dévouement".pc2 wrote:In French:

"Dévotion" exists too, but it has a religious meaning...

Thank you for confirming, Olivier. The meaning more like "love" that you refer to could be translated as "affection", right?Chrysopale wrote:"Dévotion" exists too, but it has a religious meaning...
Chrysopale, there is also the word "devoção" in Portuguese, which has also generally a religious meaning, but can mean "complete commitment" as requested by the OP. For Portuguese, we put "devoção" and "dedicação". "Dedicação" means "devotion, affection, fondness, faithfulness".
Actually, both "devoção" and "dedicação" can also mean "affection", like "attachement".
