I would like the Old Norse (not rune and not Latin) translation for:
"Love conquers all"
I have seen it translated as:
"ástir vanst allr"
It would appear that "vanst" is a form of the verb "Vinna" (to work, win, accomplish) but I cannot find any academic support for this form of verb conjugation. Also, would this be the best verb? and if so, wouldn't the 2nd person present be "Vannr"?
As well, is "ástir" the best translation for love?
Please help!
Thanks

Re: ENGLISH TO OLD NORSE TRANSLATION HELP
Hi eocb
I am sorry but I cant directly help you.
I wondered though if a sentence like "Love surmounts everything" might yield a better sentence in the Old Norse
At least that is more akin to the Danish translation. (Kærlighed overvinder alt)
Cheers
