russian - when use 'PO' in front of nouns?

Post by ANTHOS »

Hello all

I've got a grammar question.

Can anyone explain when the prefix PO- is used before nouns eg

"Ja gavariou po-russki"

I can't help feeling that it's something really simple but I cant t find it in my grammar guides

Thanks

Andreas

Well, it's not simple at all.
Word "по" is a preposition, that can have different meanings in english, such as: on, upon, by, along, over, in, up, under, around, about, after, against, per… Usually, it determines which declination of the noun is used.
