Medieval Romance song

Post by mfusser »

Hello all,

The leader of our choir has brought a lovely little song, which she said was medieval Catalan. Well, both me and Jordi, the Catalan translator, thought it could more likely be Occitan. What do you think?
Of course, the lady who taught this to us has no idea what it means, nor did the people who taught it to her, etc. So the spelling and the word boundaries needn't be right at all! So here it is:

"Al journal jeudi ici
para quil o da fer salvi si"

Has anybody got a guess?
Thanks a lot!
