Post by Gizmo13 »

Hello everybody!
I need your help. I think I'm pregnant (will be sure next week) and I want to announce it in an original way to my husband who is chinese. Could someone help me? What should I say in Chinese?
Thanks very much for your answer...

你要成为爸爸
= ni3 yao4 cheng2 wei2 ba4ba

I cannot, I'm actually kinda stupid in Chinese... Should I pronounce it as it is written? What mean the numbers? Sorry for my stupid questions... I'm gonna learn Chinese but only in September...

Wooooooooooops !

It will be difficult to teach you here... ! The numbers represent le tone and melody of the pronounciation ! You should look to a chinese teaching web site to try to hear the tones.

For basic pronounciation :

ni [nee] (like "knee") 3
yao [yaw] 4
cheng [cheung] ("eu" is pronounced a bit like in "u" in "curt") 2
wei [wey] (like "wai" in "wait") 2
baba [papa] 4

For the tones :
2 indicates that the voice goes up during saying
3 indicates that the voice goes down and then up
4 indicates that voice is going down
Geroa ezta gurea...
