Hello translator mates, how are you??

I´m a helper of a multicultural web site that is dedicated to give support to the comunity of developers of independent adventure games.

Sometimes I found that I have to translate from many languages to english and this time I need a little help (so my knowledge of german is not as good as I´d wish).

Would you mind give me a hand?? Thanks for your time!!

Die Erde, vor einigen hundert Jahren wurde sie durch tragische, nnukleare Unfälle zerstört und existiert seit dem nur noch in den Erinnerungen. Einige Wissenschaftler hatten es sich aber schon lange Zeit vor dem unglück der Mission angenommen einen neuen fruchtbaren Planeten zu entdecken. Es gelang ihnen. Sie gründeten das Galaxia-Sonnensystem.

Wir schreiben das Jahr 3001- Du sitzt am Bord deines Raumschiffes und bist auf den weg in die Flitterwochen...

I see nobody has answered yet, so I'm having a go for it :

"Planet Earth - was destroyed some hundred years ago by tragical nuclear accidents and exists no longer except in memories. Yet some scientists had undertaken a mission long before this disaster : they aimed at dicovering new fruitful planets. And they succeeded. They founded a solar system called "Galaxia".

We are writing in the year 3001 - You are on board of your spaceship and on the way to your honeymoon..."

Still notice that English is not my mother tongue (neither is German actually), so maybe someone shall want to correct my translation.
I'm not too sure about the meaning of "Wir schreiben das Jahr 3001" and I'm wondering wether this is actually correct. So please everybody, correct if needed !

PS : What do you mean with "If anyone is interested in create a team of translators of independent adventure games can contact with me" : is this a job proposal or just a partnership proposal ?

The meaning of "Wir schreiben das Jahr 3001" as you have translated it, has much sense with the plot of this graphical adventure game

I´m gonna tell you a little about the history of Independent adventure games. With the decline of adventure game genre featured by the big companies of videogaming that replaced it by others more profitable, a few people took the torch and started to create engines, utilities, tutorials … adventure games (the most by free) to keep alive the flame of this way of expression. People made up teams and comunities arround the different styles and engines used to create adventures, afterwards arose the necessity to create places to keep all the comunity together then appeared Adventure Developers and TCN. Adventure Developers currently is not operative and TCN is improving to cover the lack and introduce new fields to give more support to independent developers.

One of these fields could be the language coverage (as student of Translation and Interpretation degree I´d like to give a little of my myself to this goal and if anyone else is interested in this matter we could create a team for it).

Thanks for your explanations. I'm actually a student of translation too, but I'll soon get to work, so I don't think I'll have much time to get involved in a real team. Moreover, I don't know anything about videogames...

But comme around to this forum when you need some translation and I'll try to help if I'm around too !

(Translate adventure games is very similar to translate tales, is a game genre based in adventure novels genre).
