(It"s Friday afternoon and I have time to spare)

For English speakers or those who are interested in English language literature, a good library (ie to borrow books not to buy them) in Paris is the American Library in Paris:

The standard membership fee is perhaps a bit steep at nearly 100 euros (annual fee) but there is not much choice - I think this is the only English language library in Paris.

However, it is well stocked and seems to be up to date. There is also a good selection of English language magazines for browsing.

Perhaps you'd rather buy some books on Amazon.co.uk at this price !!

(For me, "borrow" books at 100 euros a year is not borrow anymore

But this is my point of view...)
