Serbian School

Post by Raskolnikov »

This seems like a pretty good website:

http://www.serbianschool.com

Maybe someone can tell me if it is any good for someone to learn from. I mean, if there are mistakes and things like that, since I am trying to learn Serbian.

Thanks a lot.

EDIT: You must use Microsoft Internet Explorer to use the website.

thanks for the link. i tried just Learn Serbian section.

my fisrt impression that it would be hard to understand for people who have no basic knowledge of the language. there is audio - it's great. and it's interactive.
my "course" of Croatian hepled me a lot :) (thanks to Sanya for the help with it too :))
i saw minimum of grammar there, but just phrases. maybe there is more. but if to go through some 5-10 "lessons" at a time it's a bit... hard :loljump: and the beginning looks more like a phrase book to me.

Yeah, and I'm Croatian, so I could give you a hand in teaching Serbian because Cro-Serb are very similar. No hard feelings Goran/Sanja?

SV, Sanya taught you Croatian, ha, ha???? It was me who taught you and wrote more than 3 pages!!!! :D

(Sanja, just kidding) ;)

très intéressant... surtout la Bible traduite... mais ça fait un certain temps que ça n'est plus mis à jour... néanmoins je vais voir si le site marche toujours... il est vrai qu'il faudrait une intro... mais pour cela nous avons les cours sur le forum! (bravo)

tiens en fait rien ne s'affiche chez moi pendant les leçons, est-ce normal???

EDIT: interesting but does not work anymore? at least for me... :(

It only seems to work in Internet Explorer (possibly only version 6). I tried it with Netscape, Opera, Firefox, and they don't work.

ok... so I will have to use I.E. ...

I hope it is worth such a sacrifice

but I cannot wait to try this "school" :P

so let's see and thanks for the link! ;)

:hello:

EDIT: so I just had a look at it... quite good

even if the quality of the recordings is not great...

But I am not sure about one pronunciation

is the sound a in đak long?
are they many occurrences of monosyllabic words with a long vowel in Serbian or Croatian ?

I already heard the word "strip" with a long i, but I am quite sure it is a mistake! (or just the typical pronunciation of inhabitants of Podgorica :)

So is this correct?

I don't know, but I believe the guy said he's from Britain, so, maybe he has an accent.

ok

Just a question: have you ever checked this site?

It shows exactly the evolution of serbian language... an example of the changes a slavic language can "stand", because it looks more like a revolution!
