Needing help with Gàidhlig (scottish gaelic)

Would someone know how to translate:
"Only god will judge me"

Hi John !

Hallo Sìne (or Hallo Iain) !

I found only a free translating dictionary in the french section of Freelang, on this link : http://www.freelang.com/dictionnaire/gaelique_e.html. Astounding enough, I did NOT find such a dictionary in the english section (http://www.freelang.net).

Translated in french, your phrase becomes (literal translation) : "Seul Dieu me jugera" (better: "Dieu est mon seul juge").

I downloaded this dictionary and found this :

only -> seul = seulement -> a-mhàin
God -> Dieu -> Dia :god:
to be -> être -> bi, a bhith
to be (future) -> être (futur) -> bithidh
my -> mon -> mo
judge -> juge -> / (NOT FOUND :cry: )

(father -> père -> athair)
(to teach -> enseigner -> teagasg)
(teacher -> enseignant -> ollamh)

Suggestion:

a-mhàin Dia bi mo (???)

According to the dictionary, Tapadh leabh = thank you. Seadh ? Isn't it ?

(Tapadh leabh) Is used to say thank you to a group (everybody)
(Tapadh leat) Is used to say thank you to one person.

Suggestion:

Heu, non, ca va pas, les langues gaéliques ne peuvent se traduire mot-à-mot (surtout qd on se sait pas dans quel ordre on met les mots ;)). La phrase gaélique commence généralement par le verbe, puis le sujet, puis l'objet et puis le reste (adverbes etc). Les phrases avec le verbal "is" (un des deux verbes être, d'usage différent) ont souvent un ordre de mots assez délirant, qui change selon tout un tas de paramètres.

Si on veut traduire "Dieu sera mon seul juge" ca serait plutôt "is e Dia an t-aon bhreitheamh (a-mhàin) orm". (mot à mot: est il Dieu le un juge (seul) sur-moi. Voyez qu'on ne peut pas avoir une phrase gaélique correcte en traduisant mot-à-mot, ca marche jamais. :D)

Merci qd on s'adresse à plusieurs personnes est "tapadh leibh", pas *tapadh leabh".

Heureust que Pierre a cafté et m'a dit de venir voir ici ;) .

I dont want to abuse of your time but you're looking pretty fluent with Scottish Gaelic so if I could ask you another favor... :confused:

Could you please check these and tell me what you think of them.

I would like to know what do they mean exactly.
It's Hard to translate with only dictionaries.

'S fheàrr nach dèan thu droch cheann rium.
'S mòr a bheireadh ort e, nan dèanadh.

I know a little what it's about I just want to be sure.

It is better that you don't do/won't do a bad one/a "bad head" (faire la tête à qn) to me. > It is better that you are not cross against me.
'S mòr a bheireadh ort e, nan dèanadh.
It is big/much, that would give it on you, if it would do.

I don't understand exactly what it means, that's why i give a literal translation. If i knew the context it was written, i could understand better & be more precise...
