English To Sanskrit - "Wife" or "Taken"

Post by Just_Me »

Hi there. I've been looking for the translation for the word "wife" or the word "taken" to use for a tattoo.

I've checked some of the online translators, but I'm not really sure of my results.

Anyone have any suggesstions? (or the translation/s)

Thanks :D

"wife" (spouse) is "jâyâH" जायाः

"taken", past participle of "to take", is "labdha" लब्ध

But if you want to make a sentence, you have to concord jâyaH and labdha. You can give us the whole sentence you want us to translate, and we will do it.

Thank you Sisyphe. I was thinking of just getting 1 word tattooed. I think I'll go with wife/spouse. (I guess it's the same for either gender?).

This is a great forum. :drink:

I wish I knew another language well so that I could contribute.
