help please

Post by laura »

Hi friends,
I don't have a dictionary at the moment. Would you please tell me what casework means?

It must be an entry form or something like that, I presume..

Those who offer assistance to prepare Diversità Visas casework for applicants do so……

thx

I think casework = social work for single cases/persons

If you do not have a dictionary but have access to the Internet, you can also use online dictionnaries. Ever heard about them? You can find a list of them in Freelang's link center

As for your question, I'd maybe say "dossier" in French.

generally, it means work that is done on a case by case basis, most often each case representing a person rather than a product. as mentioned, it is often used in the context of social workers.

thx for the helpful suggestions.
I take advantage of your time and ask you to help me out with these two other phrases.

Because there is a separate determination made before each annual Diversity visa period, the list of countries whose natives do not qualify may change from one year to the next.

Family – sponsored and Employment Based visa categories

Holding the entry period during November will ensure successful applicants are notified in a timely manner.

essentially, this means that every year the criteria change..;

Family – sponsored and Employment Based visa categories

in the context, to me this is talking about the type of application ie on which entry criterion it is based on. it could be
- an application where a member of the applicants family lives in the States
or
- an application where the applicant can offer job skills that are in demand, or whatever
