Russian Cyrillic Question

Post by Raskolnikov »

Hello, can anyone explain what the marks are above some of the letters, like the А, Е, О, etc. mean?

Here is an example:

I have a Russian keyboard, but how do I type those marks?

Thank you.

They are stress marks. Normally these are left out. I reckon that the text is for beginners

Yes, those marks are intended only for foreign learners. Russians never use them, so you don't have to type them (and I don't know how to type them anyway...) ;)
