Translation of a few expressions in different languages....

Post by trans_alex »

Hi, my name is Alex and I'm from Panama. I'm a Chinese-Panamanian though. I just want to help on the page "Translation of a few expressions in different languages", and to say HI to everybody!!!! :hello: I just signed in a while ago! ;)

I saw that some expressions do not have a Cantonese or Mandarin translation so I'm going to contribute on those:

-Welcome (歡迎)
Cantonese = fun yen
Mandarin = huānyíng

-Merry Christmas (聖誕節快樂)
Cantonese = sen dan chit fai lo
Mandarin = shèngdànjiékuàilè

-Congratulations (恭喜)
Cantonese = kon jei
Mandarin = gōngxi

I hope that this can help you and others. Remember, if I have mistaken please feel free to correct me! :P [img]

Hello Alex, and welcome!

Actually it's better to send additional translations to the email address you can find at the bottom of each page where there are tables with expressions translated into many languages. Of course this only applies to translations that are posted out there on the Freelang website. If someone wants an expression translated into many languages here on the forum, we reply here.

I don't think you need to resend your translations, Beaumont will probably find them here.

Thanks for your help!
