*What you wrote are not verses, but I do not know the correct word. Anyway, I do see them.
Well, my sanscrit is very, very limited.

our Sanskrit is very limited too in vocabulary, but we are advancing in grammar.
what did you mean by:What you wrote are not verses, but I do not know the correct word.
For I used the word "sukta-" (verse) instead of "letters" or something else. I wanted to says that I can actually see and read what you wrote in nagari, but the only word i knew was "sukta-".

according to our dictionary,
letter (character and sound) = varNa
(letter of the alphabet, phoneme) = akSara
NOTE: capital N and S are notations we use for the retroflex/cerebral n and s.
well, it's good indeed that the characters are displaying in a correct way...

नमोनमः - namonamaH,
here is a good site for Sanskrit knowledge:
http://www.sanskrit-sanscrito.com.ar
this is an Argentinian site, with version in English and Spanish. it helped us very much; and by having read many articles of this site, we acquired many Sanskrit knowledge from this site. by this site, we got to understand many concepts and aspects of Sanskrit grammar; the Sanskrit morphology "structure". we read it attentively, and we learned how to form the conjugable roots of 1st, 4th, 6th and 10th Sanskrit verbal classes. it's really good.

"we want to restart our Sanskrit topic.
is there anyone here who studies Sanskrit?
we want to know how to read Sanskrit,
but it's difficult to read Sanskrit,
the Devanaagarii alphabet is very complicated.
sometimes, we try to read Sanskrit,
but it is also a little difficult to get time to study the Sanskrit alphabet."
we are only 15 years old, but we have a daily routine. we study Sanskrit grammar, but we should study Sanskrit writing either.

in the last message, there is some Sanskrit character mistyping. one who can read Devanaagarii will be able to tell that the Devanaagarii text is a little different from the transliteration. we will fix that soon, for we are a little busy right now.

it's really very good for practicing.drkpp wrote:Yes. it is quite alright.
Only slightly unconventional at places.
If you can read epics such as ramayan, mahabharat or geeta.
It will give you glimps of spoken sanskrit veres written sanskrit.
it's very difficult to find someone who speaks sanskrit. do you speak it fluently (if there are any sanskrit fluent speakers)?
an example of a portion of the gita:
aham ajNaana-jam tamo naaśayaami jNaana-diipena bhaasvataa
I.NOM not-knowledge-born.ACC darkness.ACC will-destroy knowledge-lamp.INSTR shining.INSTR
"I will destroy, with the shining lamp of knowledge, the darkness born from ignorance"
the problem is that our vocabulary is very small yet. do you know any good way we can improve our vocabulary? a good vocabulary is very necessary for reading the epics.
