hi i was wondering if someone could translate this for me as literally as possible? the main thing i would like to know is what part of it is talking about virginity, and what exactly is it saying? the translation i have says "and lay wanton charges against her, and bring up an evil name upon her, and say: 'I took this woman, and when I came nigh to her, I found not in her the tokens of virginity';" and the hebrew i have is: יד וְשָׂם לָהּ עֲלִילֹת דְּבָרִים, וְהוֹצִא עָלֶיהָ שֵׁם רָע; וְאָמַר, אֶת-הָאִשָּׁה הַזֹּאת לָקַחְתִּי, וָאֶקְרַב אֵלֶיהָ, וְלֹא-מָצָאתִי לָהּ בְּתוּלִים
thanks.

it seems quite literal already; as for virginity it is the last word betulim which comes from betula "virgin", and I suppose that the meaning "the tokens of virginity" is taken from the grammatical peculiarity that it is a feminine word with a masculine plural ending
