student = gakusei that's why!
daigaku = university
unless you wanted to say daigakuinsei= graduate student

あのさあ、「大学生」というのは「college student」ですよ。
ano saa... "daigakusei" to iu no wa "college student" desu yo...

so that i'm not sure where the mistake is....

except the fact that "daigakusei" is not really employed... XD (this word does exist)
it all depends on what hizoka_darkwolf wanted to say by using this word.
