Endearments and phrases in all languages

Post by Wampyre RoxAnne »

Finnish and French are the languages I'm really interested in, but I would like to know these in other languages as well. I'd also really like Russian, but in Romanised script instead of Cryllic. I'd like to see the cryllic, but I do want the Romanised as well, please.

My poor darling
My poor goober (another word for peanut)
Beautiful
sexy
I love you so much.
Please, love.
I love you both.
my darling vampire
Sleep, love.
Mine. ('You are mine', possessive. Plural and singular if language has both)
Yours ('I am yours', possessive. Plural and singular if language has both)
Forever and always
soulmate (or just mate in the same sense)

Also, some 'friendly' insults
Nutter (noun, as in 'crazy person', from 'You're nuts')
meanie
asshole
jerk
nerd
(You) Tease. (noun, sexual sense)
silly

Thank you very much for all of your hard work, time and time again!

Here are my suggestions. Bear ni mind that I am not a native French speaker so French people can probably improve on some fo them.

I don't know the French word for nerd and I don't nkow what to put for goober because I've never heard of this word.

A word of warning: as in English, the insults will cause offence if used in the wrong way or to the wrong person. I wuold advise against using them if you are not sure.

My poor darling
Mon/ma pauvre cheri/e

Beautiful
Beau/belle

sexy
charmant/e
seduisant/e

I love you so much.
Je t'aime tellement

Please, love.
S'il te plait, mon amour

I love you both.
Je vous aime tous les deux

my darling vampire
mon cher vampire

Mine. ('You are mine', possessive. Plural and singular if language has both)

Tu est à moi
Vous êtes à moi

Yours ('I am yours', possessive. Plural and singular if language has both)
Je suis à toi
Je suis à vous

Forever and always
Pour toujours

soulmate (or just mate in the same sense)
ame soeur

Nutter (noun, as in 'crazy person', from 'You're nuts')
fou/folle
malade

meanie
méchant/e

asshole / jerk
connard/connasse

(You) Tease. (noun, sexual sense)
taquin/e

silly
t'es bête

Thanks very much!

Like I said, goober is another word for peanut. I was just wondering if there was another word in any language that wasn't peanut but was the equivalent of goober.

Thanks again for the French!

Well, I know that in Finnish, darling is kulta and I think vampire is vampyyri. So, I'm pretty sure that 'My darling vampire' is Mun kulta vampyyri, depending on how the Finns would grammatically arrange that.

Sorry that's all I could do!

Hi, I think we can translate this word by "polarisé" in French.
It's a guy who is very interested in computers,...

I'm bumping my request up, because I still would really like to have these phrases in Finnish and Russian, as well as any others.

Thanks!

Ok... but you have to know that your topic will be closed if a second bump appears.
This forum has a quite strange behavior with bumps. :-o

See you !

Thanks for the warning. I was just really sad that no one had replied and was hoping that it would call attention to the post. I'm not trying to spam the board or anything, I'd just really like the Finnish :D It's my favourite language and I'm currently saving up money to buy a language program so I can learn it, but my friends and I are always saying endearments to eachother in other languages, and I don't have much in the way of Finnish. The only thing I can say is Rakastan sinua, mun kulta :D Not much, I know.

Anyway, thanks again for the warning. I don't want this topic closed ;)
