What is IPA symbol for Welsh ll, rr?

Post by numolonjpilge@torama.ru »

There are lh, rh and jh sounds in Mokshan (my native ) and there are the same lh, rh in Welsh. But I don't know how they mark it in IPA symbols. Just tell me how are the symbols called in IPA table. Thank you.

I'm sorry I can't help you with that...

I just wanted to drop you a line to say that I really LOVE the Mordvin languages  , and Moksha even more than Erzya. (I'm a bit of a Finno-Ugrist, that's why I'm interested in that). Moksha is such a beautiful language! :moua: The only languages I usually classify as beautiful apart from Moksha are Northern Sami and Finnish, so I'm quite picky... ;). We're lucky enough to have a radio program in Moksha once a week here in Finland, which I find quite amazing... :D Anyway, I’ve decided to take a trip to Saransk next time I go to Russia just to hear a bit more Moksha… ;)

I didn't know there is such language. Do you live in Komi or Karelia or where moksha is spoken?

What is interesting to me is the name of your language, in the indian believes 'moksha' is something like your 'pure' soul. Sorry I can't give you better explanation and unfortunatelly I cannot answer your initianl question.

What I know about the welsh LL is that it's called 'latteral voiceless fricative' [I hope I'm not wrong]

here are two sites which may be useful for you:
