Hi everybody,

I had an idea just right now. It would consist in putting together as many expressions as possible in all languages. When I say expressions, I think of idioms and others colloquials used with friends or in a non-formal level.

For example in French: c'est de la balle, ça tombe bien, quelle aubaine, la semaine des quatre jeudis...

Si l'idée existe déjà, merci d'effacer ce post et, comme je sais qu'il y a parmis vous nombres d'âmes charitables, de m'envoyer un MP pour m'orienter vers le post idoine (sorry, I went on in French, I don't know why).

By the way, don't hesitate to put slang in your languages, they are all welcome.

Pour l'arabe, tu veux les expressions dans la langue parlée ou en arabe littéraire.

Je n'ai pas encore réflichi !! Je vais aussi demander a ma famille.
Un sujet interessant.

For me that's the same, or let's say kif kif

So it can go on in English (except if somebody who wants to answer doesn't know English or dsoesn't know it very well).

Perhaps it would be preferable to include the idiom and its litteral/idiomatic meaning in English?

All I can think of right now (in French) is:

De même (like that)
De quoi (something)
En masse (quite enough/a whole lot)
Pas pire (to mean "pas mal" - means "not bad")

All of them are in Quebec French, although I'm pretty sure they're used in France as well.

I'll post more of them when/if I can think of some more.

Hi !
The very night I wrote my previous post, I had bought some cassettes, but I didn't look at the titles of the songs.
After I had shut down the computer, I had a look.
One song is cold Laban al 3asfour = bird milk.
We all know ( I only knew a couple of days ago) that there's no such a thing, but we say this to refer to something impossible or really hard to get like : I'm ready to bring you the milk of birds= I'm ready to do anything for you.

That's all my very very deep thinking could come up with so far (you know, I only read the title).

I'll think more.
