The cathedral Trimartyri (of the 3 martyrs)
Today, the cathedral stands on the foundations of an ancient soap-factory, which had belonged to the rich Turk Mustafa Pascha Giritli (of Creta). The building itself has the form of a Basilika with three naves; the mid-nave, which is higher, was finished in 1860. The naves on both sides are covered with a cross-cupola. The side on the NW is dominated by an impressive bell-tower. Inside of the eastern wall, you can see big and impressive paintings on the wall, drawn by the artists G. Kaliterakis, G. Stavrakis, E. Tripolitakis and D. Kokotsis. The general architecture of the cathedral (Portals, ? and cornice) shows clearly an influence of Venice.
